Oreste Borrego
On November 19, 2017, Fire Chief Robert DiLallo appointed Oreste Borrego to the position of Division Chief of Logistics after serving as Interim Division Chief.
Division Chief Borrego is a native to Florida. He started his fire career knowing this was the best job in the world. It fed his need to not only help the public in many ways but also to push himself both professionally and personally.
On February 6, 2006, Division Chief Borrego was hired by Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District as a Firefighter Paramedic and has served in many positions since. Division Chief Borrego has worked as a transport paramedic, as an acting Lieutenant before being promoted to Lieutenant in 2016. As a Fire Lieutenant at the busiest station within the fire district, station 102, he was always involved with department projects and committees, acting on his desire to further impact the fire service. This led him to the position of Division Chief of Logistics in August of 2017.
Division Chief Borrego bears the responsibility of administrative and supervisory work directing and coordinating, planning, assigning, and supervising the maintenance and repair of all automotive and diesel fire apparatus and ambulance vehicles and instructing fire department personnel in their operation. Work also involves scheduling and conducting hose and pump testing procedures, aerial ladder certification, and self-contained breathing apparatus maintenance and repair; assisting in the preparation of specifications for the purchase of new equipment; maintaining a schedule for preventive maintenance of all fire apparatus and equipment; and maintaining records of completed repair and maintenance projects as well as budgetary expenditures.
Division Chief Borrego is currently finishing his Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Administration, and holds an Associate Degree in Fire Science and holds several certifications from the State of Florida.
Recognition for public service includes Employee Performance Award of the Year, and Distinguished Service Award.
Division Chief Borrego has the support of his wife and two children, throughout his public service career.
