The Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District (LAFCRD) has joined Nextdoor, a private social network for neighborhoods. This integration with Nextdoor will enable the Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District to communicate online with neighborhoods in Lehigh Acres. Residents and LAFCRD officials will be able to work together to increase safety, awareness, and prevention efforts for fire and medical emergencies.

“We are focused on providing and continually improving the quality of emergency services delivered to the citizens of Lehigh Acres,” states Fire Chief Robert DiLallo. “Nextdoor is yet another venue in which we can continue our commitment to informing the public and developing strong relationships with the community we serve.”

The LAFCRD will be able to share helpful information with Nextdoor members, such as important emergency notifications, fire precautions, medical emergency tips, details for events and educational programs, and updates on activity affecting the local area. Nextdoor also allows users to communicate and share important community information with fellow Lehigh Acres residents.

Updates such as user posts, public agency messages and emergency communication can be accessed by users on their desktop or smart phone devices via the Nextdoor mobile app.

Residents of Lehigh Acres are encouraged to join Nextdoor as an additional means of getting important up-to-date information from the Lehigh Acres Fire Rescue & Control District. The LAFCRD looks forward to connecting with residents on Nextdoor to build safe, firewise neighborhoods. Those interested in joining their neighborhood’s Nextdoor website can visit www.nextdoor.com.
